De Novo News Tragedy For Tina
Tina Cooks stunning homebred horse De Novo News has sadly been put down after contracting a respiratory infection known as pleural pneumonia whilst travelling home following competing overseas.
Tina was on the return journey with De Novo News and two other horses Calvino II and Billy the Red who thankfully showed no sign of the travel sickness following a competition in Strzegom, Poland.
However it quickly became apparent that De Novo News had contracted pneumonia and despite being sent straight into the capable hands of the Newmarket Equine Hospital sadly the infection had spread into the joints and formed into an abscess in an inoperable area within the chest cavity.
De Novo News was owned by Jim Chromiak and had many top results including this year being 1st in the Advanced Section at Burnham Market15th in the CIC3* at Bramham, completing Badminton in 2014 in 26th place, 5th at Barbury Castle CIC3* in 2014, 9th at Burghley CCI4* 2013, 3rd at Belenheim CCI3* in 2012 and 10th at Boekelo CCI3* in 2011.
