Germany Wins Gold At the World Equestrian Games
The eventing competition at this years World Equestrian Games was a really tough challenge for all taking part with a very close final which led to the German team taking both the team and individual Gold.

This years WEG was held within Normandy, France in the Orne Region at the stunning Le Pin National Stud, which made excellent use of the surrounding area for the cross country phase of the competition.

After one of the toughest cross country courses the previous day the German team jumped superbly to leave their team ahead of of both Great Britain and the Netherlands to take Gold. The team which consisted of the Sandra Auffarth, Michael Jung, Ingrid Klimke and Dirk Schrade finished on a total score of 177.9 with Sandra Auffarth also taking individual Gold riding the beautiful Opgun Louvo.

In Silver medal position were Great Britain who fought valiantly with team members including the experienced Tina Cook, William Fox-Pitt, Zara Phillips and Harry Meade.

Taking the bronze were the Netherlands with team members Elaine Pen, Tim Lips, Merel Blom and Andrew Heffernan with the home side France finishing in 4th.
