Great Britain Win Team Gold
The British show jumping team which included Nick Skelton, Ben Maher, Scott Brash and Peter Charles
have come away with Team Gold after a tense jump off against the Netherlands.
British rider Nick Skelton who has been on fine form from the start of the competition produced another excellent clear on the impressive Big Star, who is certainly living up to his name in a quick jump off time of 47.2 Ben Maher also produced an immaculate and fast clear riding Tripple X and Scott Brash riding Hello Sanctos picked up 4 penalties around the challenging jump off track, leaving Peter Charles the challenge of going for a careful clear round or a fast 4 fault round, he chose to ride a slow clear on Vindicat, which paid off to allow Great Britain to claim a very well deserved Team Gold the first in about 60 years.
The Netherlands team fought incredibly hard to claim the Silver with members of the team included riders Jur Vrieling riding Bubalu, Maikel van der Vleuten riding Verdi, Marc Houtzager riding Tamino and Gerco Schroder riding London.
Saudi Arabia claimed the Team Bronze after excellent performances from HRH Prince Abdullah Al Saud riding the stunning Davos, Kamal Bahamdan riding Noblesse des Tess, Ramzy Al Duhami riding Bayard Van de Villa There and Abdullah Waleed Sharbatly riding Sultan.
