JT McNamara To Transfer To Dublin
Popular Jockey John Thomas McNamara is to be transferred to a specialist Spinal Unit in Dublin where he will be closer to his family.
McNamara suffered fractured C3 and C4 vertebrae and was placed in an induced coma after a fall from Galaxy Rock during the Fulke Walwyn KimMuir Challenge Cup at the Cheltenham Festival.
Following surgery the 37 year old remains on full time ventilation but is fully alert and has suffered no brain damage, and he is due to be transferred from Frenchay Hospital in Bristol to Dublin.
McNamara is a well known winner at the Cheltenham Festival and last year he was victorious riding Teaforthree in the National Hunt Chase.
