Bobs Worth Wins Cheltenham
The Cheltenham Festival had a thrilling Betfred Gold Cup which despite the difficult deep going was won by the ever popular 8 year old bay gelding Bobs Worth ridden by Irish jockey Barry Geraghty to win ahead of Long Run and Sir Des Champs who had dominated the field for most of the race.

Bobs Worth was originally owned by Barry Geraghty who bought him as a yearling and then at 4 years old sold him on to well known horse racing trainer Nicky Henderson.

This win is also the second Gold Cup that Geraghty has won having also won in 2005 aboard Kicking King and who has already had great success in former Cheltenham Festival's where in 2003 he is also remembered for winning a total of 5 races.

The racing community is desperately awaiting news of 37 year old John Thomas McNamara who fell during the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup riding Galaxy Rock a horse who is trained by Jonjo O'Neill. McNamara was conscious following the fall and was placed in an induced coma before being transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol where he underwent surgery to his neck.
