HSBC FEI Classics Leader Board
The HSBC FEI Classics series which offers US$150,000 to the series champion has one competition left after 5 events with Nicholson (NZL) the current leader after his recent win at Luhmuhlen which has put him into an even more commanding position.
William Fox-Pitt (GBR) who has won the Classics three times before is currently in second place and Jonathan Paget in third place after a successful win at Badminton Horse Trials followed by Michael Jung (GER) in third.
The HSBC FEI Classics points system awards 15 points for first place, 12 for second, 10 for third, 8 points for fourth, 6 points for 5th place, 5 points for 6th, 4 points for 7th place, 3 points for 8th place, 2 points for 9th place and 1 point for 10th place.
Past winners of the HSBC FEI Classics include William Fox-Pitt who won in 2008, 2010 and 2012 Oliver Townend in 2009 and Mary King in 2011.
The FEI Classics includes competitions at Les Etoiles de Pau (FRA), Australian International 3 Day Event (AUS), Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event (USA), Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials (GBR), Luhmuhlen Horse Trials (GER) and the last remaining competition is at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials in Great Britain.
