Darlan Suffers Fatal Fall
The popular brown 6 year old gelding who was owned by Mr John P McManus has sadly suffered a fatal fall at Doncaster in what was a build up race for Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March with jockey A P McCoy.

Darlan, who was trained by Nicky Henderson had won 6 out of his 9 races including wins at Kempton, Newbury, Haydock Park and Cheltenham with jockeys A Tinkler, B J Geraghty and A P McCoy.

The race was won by Rock On Ruby who is trained by Harry Fry and who will next be going to Cheltenham in March to race against previous winner Hurricane Fly on the first day of the Cheltenham Festival.

The Cheltenham Festival runs from the 12th to the 15th of March 2013
