Eleven Godolphin Horses Test Positive
Godolphin trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni is at the centre of a disciplinary inquiry from the British Horse racing Authority after eleven of the horses he has in training have tested positive for steroids.
Out of 45 horses that were tested at the famous Moulton Paddocks at Newmarket which is is run by Sheikh Mohammed, eleven tested positive for banned substances which included the popular bay filly Certify who won all of her races in 2012 including the Fillies Mile and who was awarded the European Champion Two Year Old Filly of 2012. Other horses who were also amongst those who tested positive included Opinion Poll, Restraint of Trade and Artigiano.
The horses who were found to have given steroids are now not permitted to race until the BHA gives them clearance and Mahmood Al Zarooni is set to face disciplinary action for admitting to the administration of the banned substances that were given to the horses that were in training.
