GB Olympic Show Jump Team Announced
The four riders chosen to represent Great Britain at Greenwich on the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th of August include Peter Charles, Scott Brash, Ben Maher and Nick Skelton.
Nick Skelton who has previously competed in six Olympic Games and won numerous Championship medals, is a well respected and prolific winner of show jumping classes. Even more remarkable is that Nick Skelton broke his neck in a fall in 2000 and was forced to retire from show jumping only to fully recover and make a superb comeback into this incredibly tough sport. At Greenwich Nick will be in partnership with Big Star a horse owned by Mrs. Beverley Widdowson on whom he won Florida's Winter Equestrian Festival's Grand Prix which took place in February and also the Grand Prix in Antwerp in April.
Ben Maher will be riding the stunning black KWPN stallion Tripple X III who he part own's with the Mike and Emma Phillips, the Quainton Stud and it was on whom Ben won a bronze medal in the European championships in Madrid.
Peter Charles will be riding Murka's Vindicat W who is co owned by Olga White, Team Murka and Tara Charles on which he has had several victories at top level with Peter having previously competed in two Olympic Games and has also won Gold at the European Championships in 1995 and several Hickstead Derby's as well making him an invaluable member of the team.

Scott Brash will be riding Hello Sanctos who is owned by Lords Harris and Kirkham for his Olympic debut, a horse on whom he claimed the Grand Prix in Florida earlier this year.
Tina Fletcher who became the first female winner of the Hickstead Derby in 38 years is in reserve with Hello Sailor on whom she has also had great success.
