Hickstead Derby
This year the prestigious Carpetright Derby was won by Tina Fletcher riding the bay gelding Promised Land who put in the only clear round of the competition.
The exuberant Promised Land put the only clear round of the competition and beat last years winner Guy Williams who picked up 4 faults.
The Derby is well known for its challenging fences which include the formidable Derby Bank and Devils Dyke combination which never fails to catch a few out.
Five riders tied for second place each on 4 jumping faults and they were Guy Williams riding Richi Rich III, Ronnie Healy riding Carlow Cruiser, David O'Brian riding Mo Chroi, Shane Breen riding Mullaghdrin Gold Rain and Michael Whitaker riding Animation II.
