Mark Todd Wins The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials
Mark Todd riding the relatively inexperienced NZB Land Vision has won the prestigious Badminton Trophy for the fourth time.
The stunning grey who, like several other horses, was noticeably tired towards the end of the cross country course yesterday showed his class in performing a beautiful clear round to a delighted and packed crowd to win the competition.
The competition was one of the most nail biting in years with several of the top 10 riders all in with a chance of winning if any show jump poles were lowered and indeed Piggy French and Mary King both moved up the leader board after performing outstanding clear rounds to finish second and third respectively.
Mark Todd now heads off to the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event to compete with another of his top class horses Grass Valley where a win would put him in contention for the Rolex Grand Slam. Other rider competing next weekend include Mary King who will be taking Fernhill Urco and Oliver Townend riding ODT Sonas Rovatio.
