Frederiksborg Horse
This lovely looking horse from Denmark is elegant with a kind nature who can be used for riding or light harness work.

Height
15 to 16 HH.

Colour
Predominantly chestnut.

Conformation

The head is intelligent looking with a generous eye, mobile ears and good sized nostrils.
The neck is short and strong leading onto well defined withers.
The back is long with a well muscled hindquarter.
The shoulder are fairly upright.
The tail is high set and fairly thick.
The legs are strong with sound feet.

History
King Frederick the second set up a stud in the 1950's with a mixture of Spanish and Neapolitan horses to produce the Frederiksborg. They were required for the cavalry and as a general riding horse. Recently the breed has had Swedish, German and Polish blood added to produce the Danish Warmblood that we know today.
