History
King Frederick the second set up a stud in the 1950's with a mixture of Spanish and Neapolitan horses to produce the Frederiksborg. They were required for the cavalry and as a general riding horse. Recently the breed has had Swedish, German and Polish blood added to produce the Danish Warmblood that we know today.
