Alison Springer Leads At Kentucky
The prestigious Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event has got off to a great start with 57 of the 58 starters starting the first dressage phase with Alison Springer coming out on top of the leader board in the first phase of this tough competition, and with very little separating the top five riders.
Alison Springer riding Arthur who is owned by Alison, William and Carolyn Springer rode a very impressive 39.8 to put them just ahead of William Fox-Pitt and Parklane Hawk who is owned by Catherine Witt who performed a 41.3 followed closely by Clark Montgomery and Loughan Glen on 43.2 in third place.
James Alliston (GBR) who has two horses running currently lies in 23rd with Jumbo's Jake and 45th with Parker. Oliver Townend is currently in 11th riding Pepper Anne and Lucy Wiegersma is in 8th place riding Grannitevka Prince who is owned by Geraldine Mills.
The cross country phase of the competition gets under way today with Bruce Davidson Jr. riding Absolute Liberty first out on Derek di Grazia ever challenging track.
