William Fox-Pitt Wins Pau
Les Etoiles de Pau has been won by William Fox-Pitt riding Oslo who finished on his dressage score.

The leader board changed considerably during the influential show jumping phase with Fox-Pitt riding a careful clear to put the pressure onto overnight leader Christopher Burton (AUS) on Holstein Park Leilani who unfortunately had three fences down dropping them into 8th position.

The show jumping even proved a challenge to Fox-Pitts other ride Macchiato who lowered 5 fences and his other ride Lionheart also lowered just one pole to claim 3rd place.

Andrew Nicholsen rose up the leader board with one show jump down to finish in 2nd place riding Mr. Cruise Control and Nicolas Touzaint riding Hildago De L'Ile finished in 5th.

There were only 5 clear rounds jumped throughout the competition which included Mary King riding Imperial Cavalier who also finished on her dressage score and finished in 4th place. Mary also managed to clinch the HSBC FEI Classics and take home the $150,000 first prize, had she finished lower than eighth with William in first place the title would have gone to him.
