BHS Queens Award For Equestrianism

The trustees of the British Horse Society have this year awarded this prestigious award to Jane Holderness- Roddam.

The award was presented to Jane Holderness-Roddam at the Royal Windsor Horse Show by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

The Queens Award is for recognition of equestrian achievements and for outstanding services to equestrianism. The award has in the past has been awarded to Jennie Loriston-Clarke, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and Yogi Breisner.

Achievements
Jane Holderness-Roddam competed in Eventing at the Mexico Olympics in 1968 and was the first British woman to do so.

After winning team gold at the Olympics she continued her success by winning Badminton Horse Trials in 1978 on Mrs S Howard and Mrs T. Holderness-Roddam's Warrior and had further success at the Europeans as well.

Jane Holderness-Roddam supports several equestrian disciplines and activities in many areas of equestrianism such as charitable work for the Fortune Centre Of Riding Therapy and is a trustee at Hartpury College and World Of Horse Welfare as well as many other roles within the equestrian industry.
