Missouri Fox Trotter
This is a lovely looking horse with a kind temperament, who has smooth paces making it ideal for pleasure, trail and showing.
14 HH to 16 HH.
Grey, bay, chestnut, brown and black.
The early settlers mixed several different breeds together to end up with a sure footed handsome looking horse that could cope with long trails over rough terrain and still be comfortable to ride.
The Fox Trot is unique to this breed with no other breed naturally doing the sliding action of the hind feet.
Missouri Foxtrotting Horse Breed Association
The MFTBA was formed to preserve the breed and keep a register of horses, as well as giving members the chance to get together and compete in competitions such as trail and endurance events.
