History
These lovely looking horses are used to aid the herdsmen who are called the "guardians"with the wild bulls that live on the Rhone Delta of southern France. In 1976 the Camargue horse was recognized as a breed by the French government and in 1978 a stud book was formed to help protect and preserve the breed. In the stud book it states if a foal was born in the Camargue region or outside it.
