Belgian Draft Horse
This is a compact horse who is immensely strong and muscular and is used for the pulling of drays and for working in the field. It is also called the Brabant after the area in Belgium where it comes from.

16 to 17 HH
Colour
Chestnut, bay, brown, red roan, grey, sorrel and dun.
Conformation
- This horse has a kind expression with a big kind eye, wide nostrils and alert and mobile ears.
- The neck is muscular and leads onto a defined wither.
- The back is short and strong
- Immensely large and powerful hindquarters.
- The limbs are strong.
- Mane is thick and the tail is well set on.
- The average weight is around 1 ton.
Famous fact
Although they normally range from 16 to 17 HH there is a Belgium Draught Horse called Radar who has reached is 19.35 HH.
