This is a beautiful light horse who has great stamina and speed with an expressive temperament.

Colour
Grey, black, brown and black.

Conformation

The head is narrow and elegant with a slight dish to the front, the eye is generous and the nostrils are a good size.
The neck is gently curved and the withers are defined and slightly higher than the croup which slopes downwards.
The back is short and strong and the shoulders are slightly shoulders and well muscled.
The limbs are strong and the hooves are small but sound.
The tail is low set.

History
The Barb comes from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia which are all coastal region of the North African countries, this area used to be called the Barbary Coast which means "foreign lands"

The Barb was used by the Muslim military and in 711 The military landed in the Iberian peninsula of Spain. During its time in Spain it has helped to develop breeds such as the Andulusian, Thoroughbred, Argentinean, Criollo and American Mustang.
